Carmelhill Catholic Primary School – Utawala

The Carmel Catholic Primary school, Utawala came into being in 2005 at the request of Rev. Fr. John Joe Garvey, an Irish Missionary of St. Patrick’s Society. This good priest was the parish priest of Christ the King Church, Embakasi and he had witnessed the quality of Education in our already established schools.

The school building was partially ready 2006 and was started exactly opposite the Holy Family Catholic Church, Utawala. Sr. Mary Pereira A.C. was the pioneering sister; later on along with others she continued to build and supervise the progress of this school.  In 2019 an independent new Pre-primary block was erected on the premises for the nursery and lower sections. At present there are nearly 1500 pupils in the pre primary and primary sections. The completely day-school offers plenty of learning opportunities like key board music, Brass band, scouts, swimming, karate, games and other co curricular programs.
