Carmel Primary School – Kimwanga

Carmel Convent, Kimwanga situated in Bungoma County of Kenya enjoys the status of the Silver Jubilee memorial project. This venture was started in 2013.  On 28th September, 2013 the school and Convent premises were blessed and inaugurated by the Bishop of Bungoma, Rev. Norman Kingoo Wambua. Sr. Susheela A.C. and others were present to celebrate this landmark event.

For the people of Bungoma the building edifice was like a museum, a place of wonder. In January 2014, Sr. Irene D’Souza assumed the responsibility of being both the superior and head teacher of the Primary school. The school started on 5th January, 2014, with 5 pupils.

By 2015 the construction of the boarding house was completed. By June 2016 the school received the registration from the Education department. At Present there are over 500 students in the primary section with over 100 boarders.
